MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — In this Healio Video Perspective, Erin Powers, vice president of global marketing and product strategy at BVI Medical, describes the importance of a personal brand and how to project authenticity on social media.
“This is something that transcends whatever your function is, whatever your education is,” Powers said at the Women in Ophthalmology Summer Symposium. “It’s becoming more and more important for patients, for prospective employers, and it’s just something that we have to do.”
During a discussion with Wayne Caulder, head of U.S. sales for Zeiss, Powers detailed three steps to building an authentic personal brand: define it, live it, capture it.
“This is about sharing who you are with the world in a way that you’re trying to control, making sure that you’re authentic about it, you’re intentional with it, and at the end of the day, showing the world that you make it a better place,” she said.
